Monday Morning Coffee Talk- Are you a Doer or a sender? Clean Water + Café 504 & World Vision Partnership!

For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith;  if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching;  the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness. -Romans 12:3-8

Happy Wednesday!

This morning I wanted to share about an AMAZING brand I am so excited to finally share about that I have partnered who gives clean water and so, so much more to communities that wouldn’t have clean water otherwise.

I developed a greater awareness and care about clean water as I thought about how often I drink water daily, even hourly. It is a physical need our body must have, right? I take it for granted all of the time, because clean drinking water has never been something I have had to worry about or be mindful of, because it is always available to me. Now imagine not having access to that primary need. Imagine not having a way to give your children safe water for them to drink, aside from the water that is available to you that is filled with dangerous bacteria, parasites, and other things that are harmful to them. It makes my heart hurt. A blogging friend of mine, Lindsey, from @nourishmovelove also shared her passion of clean water and the work she has done to raise awareness on the clean water crisis in countries all over the world, and this also opened my eyes to the realities that families face every day.

Romans 12 encourages the reader to use the gifts that God has given them personally and to DO those… I couldn’t help but think about how I could get involved in this, without physically being there. Some people have a deep desire and passion to GO and do missionary work abroad, and they are quite gifted in missionary work, too. Some do not have a deep desire to go abroad and do missionary work, and that’s okay too. I think God calls some to GO and DO and some to SUPPORT and SEND.

God needs senders, just as much as he needs the doers.  To support the doers- whether that’s through prayer, through financial gifts, through managing things for them back at home. In many, many ways- missionary work would not work without both types of people that God gifts the body of Christ.

I would put myself in the sender category. Now, that’s not to say I would never go on a missionary trip if God places the opportunity in my lap and is leading me to go. BUT- I have never felt a tug to go. Dakota and I, however, have supported missionaries both here in the United States, especially in Minnesota teen + college campus ministries and missionaries abroad through our local church bodies we’ve been apart of.

That’s when this opportunity to serve and SEND fell into my lap with Café 504.  I wanted to share the amazing work they are doing and how they have allowed me to be a small, small part of (and how you can be too!) to help the people they are serving as they  establish economic opportunities, share the gospel, AND provide clean water for the communities they are reaching.

Café 504 works in partnership with World Vision, a Christian humanitarian organization helping children, families, and their communities overcome poverty and injustice. Through this partnership and World Vision’s THRIVE program, they are providing communities in Honduras economic opportunities through farming and 100 gallons of water to those farmers and their communities with every purchase of Café 504’s mineral-infused coffee beans! The THRIVE program is enabling these farmers to take advantage of the resources that they already have and teaching them valuable skills that range from farming to investment loans for their businesses and more. You can watch this video to see more about this partnership. It really showcases what the heart behind Café 504’s mission in partnership with World Vision embodies. It is very humbling to watch!

A little on the mineral-infused coffee beans… in short, the coffee blend is SO smooth and delicious! But how it works- based on a simple questionnaire they create a customized coffee blend that matches perfectly with the water type you’ll be using to brew your coffee. How crazy is that? I have never heard of such a thing, but they did it right. It’s such a tasty blend, and I am excited to order again and purchase with purpose. As I said before, with every box of coffee you order through Café 504, you donate 100 gallons of water. That’s incredible. Think about if 10 of you that read this start buying your monthly or bi-monthly coffee grounds from Café 504. Thats 1,000 gallons of clean water for farmers, their families, children, crops, soil, and more economic opportunities to manage more thriving agriculture in these communities they are reaching! You can check out this video on their homepage to see more about the mineral-based coffee. They explain it better than I ever could!

If you’d like to start purchasing Café 504 mineral-infused coffee beans or grounds (they even have k-cups!) you can simply use my link to get started! As I mentioned, you’ll do a short questionnaire that asks your zip code, water type you use to brew your coffee, the type of roast you like, and if you’d prefer whole bean, grounds, or k-cups. Then it will generate the perfect blend for you! It takes about 30 seconds to do, and then you’ll have your perfect blend ready to purchase- either with a monthly subscription or a one-time purchase!

In partnership with Café 504, I am very excited to share that I’ve teamed up with them in a special way, where each purchase made through my personal link here will provide an additional 3500 gallons of clean water to those without it! The clean water crisis in Honduras is something every one of us can be apart of tackling, by simply purchasing an item we drink here every single day. That’s crazy and humbling to think about and makes me think about other ways I can purchase with purpose.

I would love for you to join me in supporting World Vision’s team + Café 504 in solving the clean water crisis in Honduras! If this at all sounds like an opportunity that you feel God calling you to help, then simply click here to get started. If this is not a mission you feel called to support at this time, I would simply ask that you pray. Pray for World Vision and the work they are doing to tackle poverty of all kinds through their programs like the THRIVE program. Pray for Café 504’s main investor and Trey + the other Café 504 team. Their main investor is one of the biggest single givers for WV in Honduras (his company donated over a million dollars a year to clean water). He’s extremely faithful, and making sure the water comes with the gospel is something he is gently and persistently working towards. Please pray that the gospel would continue to be shared more and more as clean water continues to be provided in these communities in Honduras. Finally, please pray that these communities they are reaching in Honduras would make a lasting impact- not only for clean water, but that the gospel would transform the hearts of many now and in the generations in these communities to come.

Thank you for your partnership in the gospel. Thank you for your partnership in clean water!

with love,

from courtney
