A morning celebrating our little love turning one. The morning was filled with family time and breakfast, opening every present with a look on her face like it was the first time (and cards!), smash cake that was more like pound cake, and a little under 400 pictures to document it all thanks to family members! Collins’ birthday was so special and even more special that everyone was so helpful to make it turn out the way it did in their own way. It really does take a village doesn’t it? We are so thankful for her life, and we pray that each year she grows older, the more she will come to know and trust in Jesus as her savior and place her life in His hands. We are also blessed with family who will travel near and far to support us and our sweetie. She touches so many lives already- I can’t wait to see how God continues to use her to touch more lives of others around her. Here are just a *few* pictures that were some of my favorite from the day. Collins was such a ham, super smiley, posed several times (even with her new soccer ball! lol), and played her part very well! 😉 Our prayer we prayed over her leading up to her birthday and on her actual big day came from Psalm 139:
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. -Psalm 139:13-14, ESV
Happy 1st birthday to our little sweetie!
(excitement over just about everything, even the cards!)
(This was hilarious- she finally tasted the frosting, then proceeded to lick each finger one by one!)
(pound cake)
(SOOOO big!)
Pure joy. Loving her reminds us continually of the Father’s amazing love for us. Thank you Lord for your amazing grace, providing us with a sweet baby girl. We take great responsibility in nurturing, loving, providing for, and leading this child to Christ that You have entrusted to us. Amen.
